Montpellier’s full range of training courses for the CCIs

There was already music for images, now there is sound too. This is precisely what the Montpellier-based training center specializes in: training in sound engineering for films and video games.

Ranked as the 2nd leading school in France and 8th worldwide for 3D animation by the International Animation Schools and Colleges Ranking 2023, ESMA, École Supérieure des Métiers Artistiques (Higher School of Fine Arts), is a pure product of Montpellier, where it was founded in 1993.

 

Based in Mauguio and Sète, Travelling is the first higher education center in the South of France that is entirely dedicated to film and television professions. Laureate of the “Grande Fabrique de l’Image” call for projects under the France 2030 plan, the school will launch new training courses adapted to hybrid and virtual productions.

Based in Montpellier since it was founded in 2017, this training center prepares students for all facets of the acting profession, bringing them into direct contact with professionals throughout their curriculum so they can build their own network.

This Montpellier-based school of higher education has specialized in 3D cinema, VFX, video games, and programming since 1999.

For its first location outside Paris, the Cité Européenne des Scénaristes chose Montpellier. A wise decision! The metropolitan area is “a place for film shoots,” explains Christel Gonnard, its deputy general delegate.

Ranked in 2023 by the Rookies as the world’s top special effects school for the fifth year in a row, ARTFX Schools of Digital Arts is the industry reference in visual effects and a major player in the Montpellier Métropole area’s CCI ecosystem.  

Not only is Montpellier a major hotspot for cinema and television series, it also offers a wide range of training courses for the audiovisual industry.

The number of animation and special effects courses available in Montpellier is one of the area's many benefits. There is a rich network of highly regarded private art school spread evenly around the territory covering a diverse range of topics and a full range of sought-after specialties.

The video game sector is constantly growing with a wealth of job opportunities. In France, 75 schools provide training for these careers. Twelve of these schools are in Montpellier, making the Mediterranean city one of the key hotspots for video game training.
