Montpellier’s full range of training courses for the CCIs
While 3D animation, special effects and gaming are the lifeblood of the city's training programmes, Montpellier also boasts high-quality courses for the cinema and sound industries. The reasons for this are twofold: production studios are multiplying in Montpellier and the number of films and series being shot in town is growing exponentially. Therefore, the network of schools that offer training in these disciplines is also expanding: major school openings include Cinécréatis, part of the Icônes network, which is now located in the town's creative hub, Cité Créative.

The Game Bakers, video game artisans

The Game Bakers was founded in Montpellier by two former Ubisoft employees. The firm designs games that “give you a buzz”… and what a buzz: its games Squids, Squids Wild West, Combo Crew, Squids Odyssey and Furi have been downloaded by seven million players.

Montpellier, a stronghold for Cultural and Creative Industries

A true lever for territorial exposure, Cultural and Creative Industries are generally concentrated in the film, television, video game, creation, 3D animation, and special effects sectors, as well as in the sound and audio sector. The greater Montpellier area is one of the major locations for the field in France, outside of Paris, where the number of employees in creative occupations has grown the most since 2008, with about 2,100 people in 2020.
